GET TO KNOW: SIMON MALLINSON
Welcoming Simon, our new Business Development Manager! Find out more about him here:
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Hi, I’m Simon. I hail from Accrington in Lancashire and yes I support Accrington Stanley, the milk industries favourite club (Who are they? Exactly!) I have a degree in Media (Radio Production) from the University of Manchester which led to me spending 14 years in the radio industry. Over that time I have worked across local, regional and national stations. I live in Manchester with my wife (who I met a University) and my two daughters so you’ll mainly find me running around after them or ferrying them to various clubs.
What do you do in your spare time?
Sport plays a big role in my spare time. I’m an active member of my local squash club and play 5-a-side whenever I can, plus run if I can muster the energy. The rest is divided up between meeting up with family and friends, going to the very occasional gig or cinema trip and enjoying a meal out.
What made you want to join MAG?
Having worked in the radio industry for almost 14 years, I felt like I needed a new challenge, learn to do something new and push myself out of my comfort zone. All I needed was the right company to do it with and from the moment I met the team at MAG/CTM I knew it was a place I could learn and do great work.
What will your role be within the team?
My role within the team is as a Business Development Manager. This means I’m one of the first points of contact for new clients. My job is to assess what clients are looking to achieve, the audience they want to speak to and then suggest the formats and strategy to achieve that objective.
3 random facts about yourself?

· I’m a keen gardener and grow my own vegetables.
And lastly, what are you looking forward to the most about working with MAG?
I’m most looking forward to providing our clients with the right products and formats to achieve their objectives!
