The best Christmas Adverts of 2022 with Media Agency Group

Team MAG wanted to find out what the best loved Christmas Advert was, so we sent a poll around the office and if you remember- on Twitter and Instagram to find the results. We also thought it’d be interesting to see how people in the industry voted (MAG) VS people outside of the industry (our followers, etc.) and if there were any differences there.

The options were the usual big four (of recent years):

John Lewis, Tesco, Aldi and Asda.

Conclusion:

Asda has won this year– with buddy the elf being the mascot for the Supermarket brand, and Aldi came in close second with Kevin The Carrot doing their own version of Home Alone. Considering research shows that there are 52% of consumers who are optimistic that they’ll be able to celebrate Christmas as usual this year, despite the cost of living crisis, and over a quarter think Christmas will feel exciting and a big occasion to look forward to, it shows that Asda and Aldi have hit the mark. Both brands have gone down the nostalgic route, appealing to older audiences and younger ones alike as well as injecting humour and christmas cheer and excitement as each ad tells a well thought out story- and the audiences who are optimistic about Christmas this year have certainly been receptive to that, in the industry and outside of it!
